Violin Performance Booking Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to violin performance services provided by Daniel Feng (ABN 64 140 621 831).

1. Booking and Payment

Quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.

A booking is confirmed once the Booking Fee is received. The Booking Fee is 25% of the quoted fee, rounded to the nearest $5.

Payment of the Booking Fee confirms acceptance of the quote, booking details and these Terms & Conditions.

The remaining balance is due 14 days before the event. For bookings made within 14 days of the event, full payment is required when booking.

Daniel may cancel the booking if payment remains outstanding after the Client has been given a reasonable opportunity to make payment.

2. Performance

The event date, venue, performance time, duration, repertoire and services included will be specified in the quote or booking confirmation.

The quoted fee includes preparation and Daniel’s usual performance equipment, but does not include additional sound-equipment hire unless stated.

Minor changes can usually be accommodated. Material changes to the venue, timing, duration or performance requirements may require a revised quote.

3. Repertoire Requests

Song requests discussed before booking will be included in the initial quote.

Requests for songs not already listed at danielfeng.au/repertoire/ must be provided at least 30 days before the event. Daniel will provide a proof audio where a new piece is specially prepared.

After booking, repertoire changes should be requested at least 14 days before the event and should ordinarily be selected from Daniel’s existing repertoire.

Changes requiring substantial additional preparation may result in a revised fee, which will be agreed before the work is undertaken.

4. Sound Equipment

Daniel’s usual equipment does not include venue speakers or a PA system.

Where amplification is required, the venue must provide a suitable PA or speaker system with appropriate audio inputs, adequate coverage of the performance area and access to mains power.

If suitable equipment is unavailable, Daniel may offer to arrange equipment hire at an additional cost. Any additional hire cost will be advised and must be approved by email before it is incurred.

If equipment hire is not approved, Daniel may perform acoustically where practical, but cannot guarantee adequate volume, coverage or sound balance.

5. Venue Requirements

The Client is responsible for confirming that the venue permits the agreed live performance and any required amplification.

The Client must provide relevant venue or coordinator contact details, including an event-day contact number.

Any permits, permissions or venue approvals are the responsibility of the Client or venue unless otherwise agreed.

6. Delays and Overtime

Daniel will reasonably accommodate ordinary event delays, including approximately 15 minutes where possible.

The performance does not automatically extend beyond the booked finishing time.

If the Client or coordinator asks Daniel to continue beyond the booked finishing time, and Daniel is available and agrees, overtime is charged at $50 per commenced 15 minutes.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The Booking Fee is non-refundable if the Client cancels.

For cancellations:

  • more than 30 days before the event: the Booking Fee is retained;
  • 15–30 days before the event: 50% of the total fee is payable;
  • 14 days or less before the event: 100% of the total fee is payable.

Any amount already paid will be credited towards the applicable cancellation amount.

A booking may be rescheduled once, to a date within 12 months of the original date, subject to Daniel’s availability.

The Booking Fee will transfer to the new date. If Daniel is unavailable, the booking will be treated as a cancellation.

Changes to venue, duration, equipment requirements or other significant booking details may result in a revised fee.

8. Outdoor Performances

Outdoor performances require a dry, safe and stable performance area protected from rain, water and direct sun.

Daniel is not required to perform in extreme heat or conditions that may damage his instrument or equipment or create a safety risk.

If suitable conditions cannot be provided, Daniel may relocate, delay, pause or discontinue the performance as reasonably necessary. Where the circumstances are outside either party’s reasonable control, section 9 will apply.

9. Circumstances Outside Either Party’s Control

If the event cannot reasonably proceed because of circumstances outside either party’s control, including severe weather, venue closure or government restrictions, the parties will first try to reschedule the booking.

Any new date is subject to Daniel’s availability and may require a revised fee if the booking requirements change.

10. If Daniel Cannot Perform

If Daniel is unable to perform and cancels the booking, all payments received will be refunded in full.

Where reasonably possible, Daniel may assist in finding an alternative musician, but a replacement cannot be guaranteed.
